Benefits of Powdercoating Products
Powdercoating is a highly advanced method of applying a protective finish to certain types of metals. The powder used is a mixture of finely ground particles or pigment and resin, which is then electrostatically sprayed onto the metal surface to be coated. The charged powder particles adhere to the metal surface until the powder is heated and fused into a smooth, soft coating in the curing oven which reaches temperatures of a couple hundred degrees. Powdercoating is one of the fastest growing finishes available to consumers with an estimated 10% of all coatings being powdercoated products.
Powdercoating provides consumers with a long lasting economical finish that is second to none. Powdercoated surfaces are more resistant to chipping, scratching, fading and wearing than other finishes due to the powdercoating process. Color selections are basically limitless with dozens of colors available in flat, satin, gloss, high gloss and more options.
Liquid solvents like spray paint or other chemical contain solvents which have pollutants known as volatile organic compounds, powdercoating has zero solvents and release little to no volatile organic compounds.
