Coating Reference Guide
With so many different coatings available, which one is right for your application? We see this question and it all really depends on your application. Putting a thermal barrier coating on exhaust headers, piston tops, or cylinder head chambers will increase horsepower output.
Applying an oil shedding coating to the valve covers, oil pan, crank crankerweights and such will increase lubricity and reduce drag. Adding PTFE coatings to the piston skirts, bearings and such will provide better overall protection for the engine including adding an extra barrier while holding oil in critical engine parts.
